ANDRES HAS MORE THAN 25 YEARS OF COLLECTING AND MASTERING EXPERIENCE IN furniture design, METAL, WOOD, AND LEATHER CRAFTS AMONG OTHER FINE MATERIALS.

He studied at university in Canada , earning a degree in Industrial welding, and holds a BA in Industrial Design.

Andres earned an MFA in product design at the Academy of Arts University in San Francisco.

As part of his formal training, he lived with Embera and Waunan tribes in his native Colombia, researching ancestral craftsmanship: the historical development and use of tools., what kind of tools they use for each purpose and why. These tribes are quite advanced in how they created and treated materials, both natural and woven. There he learned how to read the woods, the water, the natural resources and interpret them for your own needs.

As a child he collected tools since the age of 6; at 9 his family stopped buying him toys because he was more interested in taking them apart and making something different. After that he always got tools and materials as gifts.  Art has also been source of inspiration and wellness.
